A workspace is your company inside Begin: its people, its schedule, its hours and its settings, kept apart from every other company’s. One account can belong to more than one, and you move between them from the menu behind the workspace name.
Access to create a workspace is arranged with Begin first. If you are signed in and the app does
not put the workspace form in front of you, write to us and we will open it. If we gave you a
signup code, the app asks for it right after you sign in.
Set it up
1
Sign up with your email
Begin sends a six-digit code to the address you give it. There is no password to choose.
2
Complete your profile
Your first name, last name and phone number, and the terms. Begin then offers you a passkey, so
the next sign-in is your fingerprint or your face instead of a code. Maybe later skips it.
3
Name the workspace
Workspace name is what your team sees in the sidebar. Industry and Country are the
only other two Begin insists on, and it guesses the country from where you are.
4
Fill in what you already know
A logo, Default currency, which follows the country until you change it, Branch address
and Number of employees. All four are optional.
5
Create workspace
You land on Overview, with a Getting started checklist waiting at the foot of the
sidebar.
What comes with it, and what does not
A new workspace is not empty, but the things a schedule is built from are yours to make. That is what the checklist is asking for.
In Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania the statutory leave policies arrive with it as well, as drafts. Open Policies → Time off and activate the ones you use: nothing accrues until you do.
Begin reads the timezone, the 12- or 24-hour clock and the default language from your browser and
your country as it creates the workspace, and asks you about none of them. All three sit on
Settings → Workspace settings afterwards, where everything saves as you change it. That page
belongs to an administrator: a manager role does not reach it unless you grant it.
Can I have more than one workspace?
Can I have more than one workspace?
Yes, and one account can hold as many as you need. Add workspace and Switch workspace
are both in the menu behind your workspace name. Switching keeps you on the page you were
reading whenever the other workspace has it.
What if the country is wrong?
What if the country is wrong?
Change it on Settings → Workspace settings. It does not drag the currency or the language
along with it: both are their own rows on the same page.
