Begin holds one company’s working week: the people in it, the shifts they are on, the hours they work, and the reports that come out of both. The sidebar is the whole map. A new workspace arrives nearly empty, so the pages below run in the order the work becomes useful.

What is where
The sidebar arrives in groups, in this order. Reorder it, hide what you do not use, and star anything you open daily into Favourites.
On some workspaces Messages and Begin AI are tabs above the sidebar instead of rows; the pages are the same.
Two keys are worth learning on day one. Cmd / Ctrl + K opens Actions & search, which goes to any page and finds any person. Cmd / Ctrl + J opens Begin AI.
The checklist in your sidebar
A new workspace carries a Getting started card at the foot of the sidebar, and it is the shortest route through the setup. Signed up is ticked when you arrive; the four left are Add your first location, Create a position, Invite team members and Set up a schedule. Nothing is stored as done. Each step reads your workspace, so it ticks the moment that thing exists, whoever made it, and unticks if you delete it again. Clicking a step does two things: it opens the page, and it starts Begin AI with the matching skill attached, so you can describe what you want instead of filling the form. Collapse shrinks the card to a pill carrying your progress. Hide checklist, in the … menu beside it, takes it away for good. When the last step ticks, Dismiss on the card removes it in the same way.Next
