Setting up

No. A shift needs neither. The Getting started checklist asks for one of each because almost every workspace ends up wanting them: a position gives the shift its colour and lets you stack the grid by job, and a location does the same for a site. Add them whenever you like and fill them in on shifts you have already made.
Add them on People and leave Send invite email ticked on the form. Invite your team has the rest: several at once, the link you send yourself, and what each role can do.
English, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian. Everyone picks their own on Settings → Preferences, and it changes nothing for anybody else. Settings → Workspace settings sets the one new members and invitations arrive in.
An administrator. The Manager role deliberately does not carry Manage workspace settings, which is what the name, the logo, the timezone and the regional defaults sit behind. Grant it to a role on Settings → Permissions if you want that to change.
Yes. Begin AI on Settings → Workspace settings turns it off for the whole workspace, and with it off no workspace data is sent to AI model providers.

Building the week

No. A shift stays a draft until somebody publishes it, and until then only people whose role can edit shifts see it at all. Move it, rewrite it or delete it and none of that reaches anyone. Publishing is the moment it becomes real.
Yes. Select the shifts, choose Copy or Copy with assignments, then paste onto the day and row you want them on. Copy to next month rolls the same dates forward in one action. Editing in bulk covers which to pick.
No. The week begins on Monday everywhere in Begin, and there is no setting for it.
No. Once a shift is out, every later change to it reaches the team as you make it. That cuts both ways: unpublishing pulls the shift out of their view but does not unsend what they have already seen.

Your team

Publishing sends it three ways: their Begin inbox, an email and a push notification. Each person controls those per notification on Settings → Notifications, so a missing email usually means that channel is switched off for them. The shift is on their schedule either way.
They see their own shifts and their colleagues’, clock in and out, take an open shift offered to them, add and remove their own Available and Unavailable blocks, request time off and ask for a swap. They cannot create or edit a shift, and they reach no management page.
Deactivate them instead. Their schedules, timesheets and reports stay under their name, they stop counting towards your plan, and you can reactivate them at any time. Delete person is a separate, heavier action.
